Guanacaste

Guanacaste is a province located in the Pacific Northwestern area of Costa Rica, which is known for its beaches and sun. Although one of the largest provinces, Guanacaste is the least populated, offering long stretches of deserted beaches. With an endless list of outdoor activities, enjoying the “pura vida,” or pure life, is easy.

The local cattle-raising and agricultural lifestyle gives Guanacaste a warm, charming atmosphere found nowhere else in Costa Rica. The area experiences two distinctive seasons; the dry season, from November to April, and the rainy season, from May to October. Because of the region’s boom in foreign investment, Guanacaste is appropriately known as the Gold Coast. Reaching the area has become easier than ever thanks to the Liberia International Airport, serving several major airlines daily. Offering a mixture of warm, sandy beaches, forests, far-reaching plains and awe inspiring volcanoes, it is no wonder that Guanacaste has become the top tourist destination in Costa Rica.
